Course 4 - Muscular tissue

This time, we will look at muscle tissue. The journey begins with the muscle type you have the most of, skeletal muscle, also called striated muscle. Then comes a type of muscle cell that is easy to forget, but is absolutely important, smooth muscle. Finally, we will look at the only muscle you can't live without, the heart.

The ability to contract is important for almost all cells, as cell division, among other things, is impossible without contraction. However, it is only these three cell types that have specialized their contractile ability so much that they can move tissue. Different tasks have led to different structures in the muscle cells, and you will learn about these differences in this course.
