• Stage 1 - Myeloblast
• Stage 2 - Promyelocyte
• Stage 3 - Myelocyte
• Stage 4 - Metamyelocyte
• Stage 5 - Band neutrophil
• Stage 6 - Segmented neutrophil

The promyelocyte is characterized by:

• Lots of extended chromatin in the nucleus, as well as nucleoli.
• The cytoplasm is colored blue with blue-red (azurophilic) grains which are a type of lysosomes.
