Bone tissue
This section shows bone tissue and might seem somewhat unfamiliar at first glance.
Like cartilage tissue, bone tissue can be considered a specialized form of dense connective tissue. In bone, many of the extracellular components are calcified, which explains the hardness of the tissue.
We chose not to include labels on this image since most structures are much clearer at higher magnification. If you know a bit about bone tissue, you can try to identify osteons and Haversian canals.
If you don’t know anything about bone tissue, it might be just as well to move on to the next section.
