The spinal cord (400X)
This section shows the spinal cord, theĀ medulla spinalis, from a cat. As you might notice, there are at least two different cell types here. Some of the cells are large and blue, while the size of the other cells is hard to determine since only their nuclei are visible (blue dots). These small dark dots are mostly nuclei of glial cells and are not particularly relevant in this introductory course.
