What are the two main histological features of small bile ducts?
- Small bile ducts in the portal triads are characterized by having a low cubic epithelium which is colored purple in a H+E section like this one.
- The surrounding connective tissue is virtually nonexistent.

- bile ducts
- artery (branch of the hepatoc artery)
- vein (branch of the portal vein)
- hepatocytes
- nuclei of the hepatocytes
- erythrocytes
