Liver from a pig (12.5X)

This is a piece of a pig's liver. Notice the web-like pattern that separates the parenchyma into lobules. It only looks like a web beacuse of the sectioning. It is actually made up of connective tissue.

The liver capsule (seen at the bottom of the tissue sample) marks the surface of the liver. It is covered by mesothelium.
