The skin of the lip (200X)

This image shows a few details ot the lip covered by skin (the outside of the lip). A thin layer of keratin covers the epithelial cells.

Try to identify these layers of the skin:

  • basal layer
  • stratum spinosum
  • stratum granulosum
  • stratum lucidum
  • stratum corneum (contains almost only keratin)
