Head of human fetus (3 cm) (40X)

This is a frontal section of the head of a human fetus. The tissue is not well preserved indicating that autolytic processes might have begun before the tissue was fixated. But you can see the developing maxilla and mandible. You can also see Meckle's cartilage and two dental buds in the mandible.
